My favourite Bond. It must be his smile and his irrepressible sense of humour that has captivated me. ...was always Sean Connery. My dad has always been a big James Bond fan and I remember my younger years watching Roger Moore (ewwwww....), Timothy Dalton (hmm....) and Sean Connery. My sister of course, loved Pierce Brosnan to bits but I feel his portrayal of Bond was too namby pamby (sorry, sis!) for my liking. If Daniel Craig was not so blonde and blue-eyed, I might have fancied him a little bit more. One thing's for sure - the consistent factor that continues to hold our attention for all the Bonds is the fact that they look sharp, masculine and oh-so-sexy in the TUXEDO.
My 2nd favourite Bond. Tough, macho and guaranteed to protect you from the bad guys. Has a killer stare.

With that in mind, Mr. Right and I went shopping for a tuxedo for the Wedding (our wedding, not Kate and William's because sadly, we were not invited). We braved the wintry showers and Saturday crowd and trawled through the high street stores in search for a tux that looked sharp and that was affordable. Here were some of the high street stores we discovered:
Service was rather disinterested in this store on Regent Street. Plus, there wasn't a good range to choose from. There was one slim-fit suit that he wanted to try on but there was no size. Havign said that, this is probably one of the more affordable high-street brands with tuxedos starting from £150.
Drat! Our timing couldn't have been worse. The store on Regent Street had just run out of all slim-cut suits! So we were looking for something simple but they only had the double-breasted tuxedos available. Guess we'll have to come back another day. The price for a tuxedo ranged between £550 - £800.
Brooks Brothers: Wool tuxedo, not so sure about the cummerbund though.
Brooks Brothers: Pure wool, satin-covered buttons. Not ideal for Malaysian weather! A bit more "mature" as well.
He tried on a couple of suits here but the cut wasn't great. It was probably too loose-fitting (flares out from waist outwards) for him. I preferred the one with two buttons rather than just one button. And we did agree we preferred a plain white shirt rather than one with black buttons running down the shirt.

Can I just express my heartfelt appreciation to Hugo Boss for making such sharp and sexy suits and tuxedos?! I love Hugo Boss!!! Gosh...oh yes, anyway, after trying to convince Him to try on Hugo Boss for ages, he finally relented when we were looking for his tux. And boy, was he impressed! All this while, he was reticent about Hugo Boss because he didn't want to be branded "branded", if you get what I meant? Also, we always have the impressiong that Hugo Boss is expensive but comparative to the other high-street brands, it is actually very reasonably priced.
The Hugo Boss slim fit suits are just a great alternative for guys who are tall and lanky. Here are some of my favourites:
Hugo Boss Evening Suit Adrianus RRP £529: Smooth, suave and edgy. Really like the black line running down the middle of the shirt.
Hugo Boss "Joy" Jacket RRP £499: Oh joy! Like those shiny sharp lapels. Unfortunately, the tux is textured (if you look closely) and we're looking for something plain.
Hugo Boss Black Tuxedo The Stars1/Glamour1 RRP £549: Two buttons, check. Shiny lapels, check. Slim-cut, check. Looking hot, check!

Both of us much prefer the earlier styles of sharper more V-shaped lapels though.There are plenty of other places to get a tuxedo from and you can even rent one from a bridal shop like Pronuptia. It really depends on your budget too. Also, there's this interesting website, My Tuxedo, that has wedding packages starting from £165!
